I went to my local store to buy this equipment as I was decided to make smoothies (almost) every morning. To my surprise I found a smoothie kit for the regular blender already own which is even better than this. The idea of having another appliance just for smoothies wasn’t my favorite. Now that problem is solved as I can just use the Oster blender I already had with a wonderful smoothie travel cup in which I can make the smoothie and take it with me to work. Try and see if you have the same option for your (old, usual) blender, it may save you space and $.

blades are pretty small, I need to shake the machine couple times when making smoothies.

I bought my Hamilton Beach blender about a year or so ago. It sat on the shelf until about a week ago. I used in within the last seven days three times. It worked very well. I peeled, and separated 1 lemon each time. I put the wedges in the blender with water. After the third use I noticed that the bottom outside edge of the cover was cracked about .75 of an inch. This allows the contents to leak down the side when I use it. I’m ordering a blender from another manufacturer. It isn’t worth my time to request a replacement cap.

I got one of these on sale for $10. I didn’t expect it to do much, but for $10 I figured I’d give it a try.
This thing is awesome. I’m not easy on it at all, but it totally gets the job done. I don’t know how well it would do for other things – smoothies are really all I make with it.
